Recently, a viewer asked me how he could create time intervals for every half-hour during the day. It is really easy to do this using AutoFill. Just remember to enter the times in two adjacent cells that indicate the /”step value/” for the series to fill.
Since my viewer indicated that he may be using a range of starting times, I demonstrate how to calculate the numeric value for 30 minutes. This way, you can use this decimal value in a formula to AutoFill or to create a new starting value.
Finally, I show you how Excel stores Time – as a /”Decimal portion of one day./”
Along the way, you will pick up some valuable Keyboard Shortcuts.
