Demonstration showing how you view your Windows 10 PC on your Xbox One with an HDMI cable through the HDMI in display port on the back of your Xbox. The main reason Microsoft added HDMI passthrough was for displaying set top boxes for viewing media. The neat thing is you can use HDMI passthrough to view many different devices on the Xbox One or Xb1x as long as it has an HDMI out adapter. What is the point you ask when you can just plug your devices into your TV? It can come in handy when you only have one or two HDMI inputs on your TV and you are sick of having to unplug and plug in devices. It’s possible to even display your Android phone to your Xbox if you have the correct HDMI out adapter cable. Also works to display your Xbox 360 to the Xbox One though this isn’t the best use of this method because you will experience input lag.

Some changes took place with the settings menu layout since I made this video. In settings go to General to TV & Display Options to TV & One Guide and then to Audio & Video to connect your PC to be displayed. Once connected navigate to the Home Screen and go to My Apps & Games. Now select the OneGuide app to complete your setup.

Note: This will not allow your laptop to be used as a monitor.

If your computer is not displaying automatically you may have to go into your display settings on your PC or laptop and change or add the source.

To do this Right click on desktop select display settings scroll down till you see multiple displays and click detect. Let me know if that fixes the issues.
