How to change outlook time zone?

The correct time zone in Outlook Mail prevents you from sending emails with the wrong date and time.

When the globe rotates, different parts point towards the sun. So, dusk and dawn and day occur, and they occur at different times throughout the earth from east to west.

Historically, times were stored locally based on sunrise and sunset, and possibly noon. When people don’t travel quickly and most means of communication are slow too, this is easy and hassle free.

However, with the advent of trains and their schedules and faster communication over long distances, local times differing by a few minutes made coordination complicated. So, all regions must use the same time. Meanwhile, the globe is spinning, and people want the time on their clocks to correspond, at least roughly, to sunrise, sunset, and noon.

Earth is thus divided into time zones. Still a bit tricky, but at least conversions are usually limited to full hours and within your region you usually don’t need to convert at all.

Email, of course, is sent all over the world, and often we don’t know where it was sent. Behind the scenes, email services and programs convert all times and dates to where you are – as long as the system knows where you are.

In Outlook Mail, changing your time zone so it matches your location is easy, whether you’re traveling or just finding it. To rule out more time confusion, make sure the device you are using is set to the correct time zone as well.
