The best refresh rate for gaming is 60 FPS or higher. Why? The game or content feels smoother and you since you are getting more frames for each second, this may improve your reaction time depending on the game you are playing.

For regular tasks such as browsing the web and other tasks, you will really have diminishing returns above 60 FPS.
