If you want to apply color in alternate rows and columns in an Excel spreadsheet, here is what you need to do. It is possible to show the desired color in every alternate row or column with the Conditional Formatting. This functionality is included in Microsoft Excel, and you can make use of it with the help of this tutorial.
Please follow the following Steps
1.Open the spreadsheet with Excel.
2.Select the rows and columns that you want to colorize.
3.Click the Conditional Formatting in the Home tab.
4.Select New Rule from the list.
5.Select Use a formula to determine which cells to format.
6.Enter =MOD(ROW(),2)=0 or =MOD(COLUMN(),2)=0 in the Format values box.
7.Click the Format button.
8.Switch to the Fill tab.
9.Select a color that you want to use.
10.Click the OK button twice.
