Two long-term Harvard studies found that simply walking 20 minutes a day may reduce your risk of heart disease by up to 30 percent. Set a goal to walk 20 minutes at least five times a week and experience all the health benefits that a brisk walk can bring you.
Steps were counted during the walking-in-place scenario. Stepping in place during commercials burned an average 148 calories and resulted in an average 2,111 steps in about 25 minutes. Walking on a treadmill for an hour burned an average 304 calories.
A brisk walking pace can be from 13 to 20 minutes per mile, or from 3.0 mph to 4.5 mph. If your walking pace is 20 minutes per mile, it may be either fast enough to be moderate-intensity exercise or too slow. If you are more fit, it might be only be light-intensity exercise.
A brisk 20-minute walk each day could be enough to cut your risk of early death – even if you are obese, according to new research published Jan. 14. The study of more than 334,000 European men and women found that twice as many deaths may be attributable to lack of physical activity as to obesity.

As u/kinsiibit mentioned you can run a marathon but as a teenager still growing, I’d focus on getting faster and faster at short distances. The great thing about being fast at shorter distance is that it will translate (given proper training) in longer distance.
Here are nine strategies to try the help you shave time off your mile.
On average, a runner can complete one mile within 9 to 10 minutes at conversation pace (RPE 2-4). As a matter of fact, the Elite marathoners can complete their one mile run in around 4 to 5 minutes. Actually, it is a good range of running to start with. 12 to 13 minutes per mile is a comfortable and relaxed run.
A 12-minute-mile is also considered a jog or a light running pace. Just by looking at the times, it’s pretty easy to see what is a slow, leisurely pace and what would be considered a very brisk, speed walking pace.
Meh… 12 minutes/mile is not a walking pace. Anyways, as long as you’re getting your heart rate up and you’re continuing to get out there and break a sweat for at least 30 minutes at a time on a consistent basis, you’re doing what you need to do for weightloss.
12 minutes per mile
If you can barely run a mile because of your fitness, then you will need to slowly build up. Running a marathon may take around 6months to a year for you to build up to. Slowly increase your mileage over time. By the time you run a marathon you should be able to run around 40 miles a week.
If you can run 2 miles in 12 minutes, you will definitely be pretty fit.
