How does such an environment affect life there? The Greeks had to raise crops and animals suited to the hilly environment and the climate of hot, dry summers and wet winters. Their crops were wheat, barley, olives and grapes. Herds of sheep, goats, and cattle grazed on the shrubs on the many hills and mountains.
The climate in Ancient Greece generally featured hot summers and mild winters. Because it was so hot, most people wore lightweight clothing throughout most of the year. They would put on a cloak or wrap during the colder days of the winter months.
Athens and Sparta were the two main city states that ruled much of ancient Greece. They were often rivals and fought each other in the Peloponnesian Wars.
The Spartans were better drilled as a fighting force than their Viking counterparts. As a unit the Spartans would have fought better against an organised Viking force. If it came to a one on one fight, the Viking warrior would have beaten the Spartan warrior as his weaponry was superior in a stand up contest.
Vikings in general were about 5’8, with Samurai’s being on average a bit smaller, so a Viking has weight and strength advantage. Vikings were mainly pillagers, but fought knights and did well. I am using late versions of both, so Plate armor for Sam and Mail for Viking. Armor, skill, and range goes to Samurai.
Vikings can shoot at the Spartans since Spartans don’t believe in long range warfare, but that won’t work out too well in the end. Round 2: Vikings were excellent fighters, much like Spartans. In comparison, Spartans fought in larger scale battles as a united and organized force.
Looking at an average Spartan-II vs and average Spartan-IV, the Spartan-II would most likely win in the majority of engagements, mostly due to superior training and experience. That said, the Spartan-IV would certainly put of a decent fight and make the Spartan-II work for their victory.

He was augmented as a child, he has spent many years in cryo-sleep, and the Librarian did the evolution thing to him in Halo 4. For all we know, the Chief is now immortal.
Quote: Spartans in general are very powerful beings, even the Spartan III were quite powerful but not quite at the level of the II’s, no one is. The accurate statement is John is 6 ft 10 inches tall, and weighs 290 lbs. without armor, and can lift over 3 times his body weight like mentioned.
Rocky Balboa has about 6-700 pounds of punch force. Ivan Drago had about 10-1200 pounds of punch force. Spartans are somewhere in the 40000 range.
