In this Excel video tutorial, we gonna see how to highlight positive and negative values in Excel in green and red color. Whenever a value is positive it will be highlighted in green, whenever a value is negative it will be painted red. We can use conditional formatting in Excel to paint a specific cell or we can paint a entire row in Excel or even change the color of the text.

There are several different ways to automate tasks in Excel and save time on a daily basis. The conditional formatting tool in Excel is an excellent solution and also the number format tool where we can highlight values.

We can use any type of number percentage, currency, fraction, positive numbers and negative numbers. Here in this example I am using a sales template or a sales report.

I’m comparing sales from one year to another. Whenever the difference in percentage that is positive indicates that there was growth in sales this way I want to automatically highlight the number in green and whenever there was a retraction in sales I want to paint the number of red showing this regression.
