One of the new features on Google Home and Google Home Mini are location-based reminders. This video is specifically for Google Home location-based reminders with your Android phone or tablet.
First off, I’m going to show you which countries you have to be in and how you would go ahead and accomplish location-based reminders in a multi-user household.
You’ll need to make sure notifications and personal results are turned on in your Google Home application on your Android device.
Once in Google Home or the Google Assistant app, you can set a reminder. From there, you can choose to pick a time or a place. Once you choose a place, you’ll be able to type in any address or if you’re speaking to your Google Home, you can say something like /”home/”.
When you view your reminders in Google Assistant, you’ll be able to see the breakdown of reminders set by Place, Time, and ones that are past.
There are also two other applications that you can create location-based reminders within on your Android phone or tablet. Those are Google Calendar and Inbox by Gmail. Both of those applications allow you to set a location-based reminder, even based off of an email you received.
Keep in mind, any Google Home reminder you set on a phone or tablet will only show a visual notification on your Google Home. You’ll see a little white dot on the device, and that dot will only stay on for 10 minutes.
Conversely, if you set a reminder on your Google Home, Google Home Mini, or Google Home Max, the notification will include an audio notification as well as the little white dot on the device itself.
Now one thing to keep in mind is that you only get three reminders when you ask your Google Assistant to tell you what reminders you have.
