Having trouble with Discord screen share on your Mac? You’re not alone. Let’s fix that screen-share fail. Buckle up, we’re going to make this super simple and kind of fun.

Method 1. Restart Discord

Try the classic fix we all love—/”restart Discord/”. It’s as basic as turning it off and on again. Trust me, it’s like the digital equivalent of a reset button for your brain.

Sometimes that’s all you need. If not, don’t throw your Mac out the window yet. We’ve got more tricks!

Method 2. Check Screen Recording Permissions

Macs love their privacy, but sometimes they overdo it. You’ve got to tell your Mac it’s okay for Discord to peek at your screen.

Step 1. Go to System Preferences, and click Security & Privacy, then the Privacy tab.

Step 2. Scroll down to /”Screen Recording/” and make sure Discord is checked.

Boom! Now your Mac knows Discord isn’t trying to snoop on your secrets—just your screen.

Method 3. Update Discord

If it’s still not working, it’s time to Update Discord. Your app might be stuck in the past, and we all know old software is like running Windows 95 in a Wi-Fi age.

Keep things fresh—just like that avocado toast. Updates fix bugs and glitches faster than you can lose a Wi-Fi signal.

Metho 4. Check Accessibility Permissions

If things are still stuck, let’s check Accessibility permissions. Don’t worry, it’s just a fancy way of saying, Allow Discord to function properly.

Step 1. Go back to System Preferences, then Accessibility.

Step 2. Make sure Discord is checked. Basically, we’re giving Discord the all-access pass. Like a backstage pass to your system, but without all the groupies.

Method 5. Turn Off Hardware Acceleration

Still no luck? Okay, time to dig a bit deeper: Hardware Acceleration. This one’s optional, but worth trying.

Step 1. Go to User Settings in Discord, and find the /”Voice & Video/” section.

Step 2. Find Advanced and toggle Hardware Acceleration off.

Your screen share is back, and you can finally flex that presentation, game, or meme in front of your friends. If you followed these steps, your Discord screen share should be back in business! High five, Mac user – you just outsmarted technology!
