Welcome back to the third part of the Find and Replace lesson.
How to find a formula and replace it with another?
We need to keep in mind that the Find feature searches the visual content of the cell and not the actual one.
If we try to find the join formula.
Google Sheets find no entries matching join.
When we activate the checkbox, the actual content of the cell appears.
And when we press Find, we jump to the cell that has the JOIN formula.
By clicking the Show formulae on the View menu, we get the same result.
Our mission is to find the CONCATENATE formula and replace it with the JOIN.
In cell E2, we have the JOIN formula.
And the CONCATENATE formula in cell E3.
Both use to join data together.
Now, click find and replace on the edit menu.
Type the formula name, activate the check box, then click Find.
Copy the formula, then paste it.
Type the name of the other formula, then press Find.
Copy the formula, then paste it.
Change the cells references, then click Replace.
The visual content is still the same, but now we use another formula.
That’s it, have fun. Thanks for watching.
