Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast! In this episode, we will be discussing a common question that many Excel users have – can you use Ctrl+F to find a worksheet name? This question was brought to my attention by Todd from Indianapolis during one of our seminars last week.
Todd explained that he has a workbook with 150 worksheets and was wondering if there was a way to use Ctrl+F to quickly find a specific worksheet. My initial response was to show him the navigation tricks using the arrows at the bottom of the screen. However, this method becomes tedious and time-consuming when dealing with a large number of worksheets that are not in sequential order.
Unfortunately, using Ctrl+F to find a worksheet name does not work as it only searches for cell values. So, what is the solution? Well, the answer lies in using either Ctrl+G or F5 to open the Go To dialog box. From there, you can simply type in the name of the worksheet you are looking for, followed by an exclamation mark and the cell reference. And just like that, you will be taken directly to the desired worksheet.
I want to thank Todd for bringing up this question and giving me the opportunity to share this useful tip with all of you. Don’t forget to use the navigation tricks I mentioned earlier for quick movement between worksheets. But when it comes to finding a specific worksheet name, remember to use Ctrl+G or F5 to open the Go To dialog box. Thank you for tuning in to this episode of the MrExcel netcast, and we’ll see you next time for more Excel tips and tricks.

Before solving Todd’s problem, review the Navigation Worksheet tricks:
Ctrl+Click Right arrow to go to last sheet

Right-click in arrow area to bring up a list of sheets
But none of that helps if the worksheets aren’t in sequence.
Solution: Ctrl+G or F5 to open Go To dialog. Type Sheet Name, then !A1 and click OK
