Microsoft Excel Tutorial: Better Technique for Moving Rows in Excel – MrExcel Netcast.

Welcome to another episode of the MrExcel netcast. In today’s episode, we will be discussing a better technique for moving rows in Excel. This tip was sent in by David J. from the UK, and it’s a method that I’ve seen before but could never remember. It’s funny how history repeats itself, as I had previously shared this method on the podcast but couldn’t recall it when I needed it again.

So, what is this better move rows technique? Well, it’s actually quite simple. To select an entire row, all you need to do is press SHIFT+SPACEBAR. This will highlight the entire row. Then, while holding down the SHIFT key, you can simply drag the row to a new location. This will move the entire row to the new spot. It’s a quick and easy way to move rows without having to use the cut and paste method.

I know some of you may be thinking, /”But Bill, you already showed us how to move rows in episode 1512./” And you’re right, I did.
