You can use data validation to restrict the type of data that can be entered, such as whole numbers, decimals, or dates, as well as set minimum and maximum values, and create custom rules using formulas.
To set data validation in Excel, you can use the Data Validation option on the Data tab of the ribbon, or you can use the Data Validation dialog box. Once set, Excel will alert the user if an invalid value is entered.
