Financial Information UCLA does not award scholarships or financial aid to undergraduate students who are not citizens or permanent residents of the United States. International students must prove that they have sufficient funds available to them to pay for their educational and living expenses.

Q. How do I get a full scholarship to UCLA?

  1. Must complete an on-line “UCLA Scholarship Application” available through MyUCLA .
  2. Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
  3. Must submit a FAFSA or Dream Act application by the March 2nd priority deadline annually to be considered.

Q. What GPA do I need to get a scholarship to UCLA?

High school entering students are considered for scholarships with a minimum 4.1 GPA. Community college entering students are considered for scholarships with a minimum 3.5 GPA.

At UCLA undergraduate students are awarded scholarships by demonstrating a high level of academic and personal achievement. Applicants to UCLA are encouraged to apply for scholarships managed by Financial Aid and Scholarships by completing the scholarship section of their admissions application.

UCs do look at courses you take in freshman and senior years; the grades and rigor of your coursework are considered in context of your overall curriculum. But freshman and senior year grades are NOT included in the GPA calculation. Competitive UCs like Berkeley and UCLA look at both unweighted and fully weighted GPA.

If you accept your offer of admission to UCLA, you will have the opportunity to apply for additional scholarship opportunities from your academic departments as a continuing student and from Financial Aid and Scholarships via the continuing student scholarship application.
