Titles of full works like books or newspapers should be italicized. Titles of short works like poems, articles, short stories, or chapters should be put in quotation marks.

In general, you should italicize the titles of long works, like books, movies, or record albums. Use quotation marks for the titles of shorter pieces of work: poems, articles, book chapters, songs, T.V.

APA 7th Edition Use double quotation marks “to introduce a word or phrase used as an ironic comment, as slang, or as an invented or coined expression; use quotation marks only for the first occurrence of the word or phrase, not for subsequent occurrences” (APA, 2020, p. 159).

Rules to Format Dialogue

1. Enclose the spoken words with double quotation marks.
2. Dialogue tags (the he asked/she said portions) stay outside the quotes and get separated by a comma.
3. Actions that occur before or after the dialogue go in a separate sentence.
4. Punctuation goes inside the quotes.

If a line of dialogue is followed by a dialogue tag, use a comma (or a question mark or exclamation mark) before the closing quotation mark. If the first word of the dialogue tag is a pronoun such as he or she, lowercase it.

When you use dialogue tags, try to:

1. Keep them unobtrusive. The dialogue itself is what’s important: The tag is just functional.
2. Use a tag whenever it’s unclear who’s speaking.
3. Avoid using adverbs too frequently in dialogue tags.
4. Vary where you position your dialogue tags.

In basic terms, dialogue tags (or speech tags) are like signposts, attributing written dialogue to characters. Dialogue tags don’t need to be fancy, splashy, or self-conscious. Their primary purpose is to show which characters speak and when.

Speech tags is commonly used by writers, as given already, and often abbreviated to just tags, though like many short terms it only makes sense if you know the fuller form. Those other than the simpler said and asked are often called Swifties or Tom Swifites or said-bookisms.

Treatment

1. Injection. This treatment involves injecting the cyst with a medicine that reduces swelling and inflammation.
2. Incision and drainage. With this method, your doctor makes a small cut in the cyst and gently squeezes out the contents.
3. Minor surgery. Your doctor can remove the entire cyst.

Both aspiration and cyst removal can be performed in an urgent care center. The treatment of the cyst depends on certain factors, including the type and location of the cyst, and also whether the cyst is infected.

Once the pus is drained, antibiotics may not be needed unless the infection has spread into the skin around the wound. The wound will take about 1 to 2 weeks to heal, depending on the size of the abscess.

It’s not advisable to try draining a cyst or abscess yourself. Cyst popping at home can cause infection. Instead, keep the area clean, and make an appointment with a doctor if the area is painful or starts to drain.

Infection – the cyst fills with bacteria and pus, and becomes an abscess. If the abscess bursts inside the body, there is a risk of blood poisoning (septicaemia). Peritonitis – if an internal cyst bursts, there is a risk of peritonitis, which is inflammation of the membrane lining the abdominal wall.

If the cut (incision) was closed with stitches, it will probably take about 4 weeks to completely heal. If your incision is left open, it may take from a few weeks to several months to heal. After the incision has healed, you will have a scar where the cyst was removed. This will fade and become softer with time.

Infections, tumors, parasites, and injuries can cause cysts. They are usually noncancerous. If a person is worried about a cyst or has noticed a new lump, they should see a doctor for an accurate diagnosis and treatment, if needed.

Ruptured ovarian cysts are part of your normal menstrual cycle, and most often dissolve on their own. You may not even know that you have them — functional cysts are not only common but normal.

Skin cysts, or sebaceous cysts, are fluid-filled sacs that develop on the skin. They are usually harmless, but a doctor may recommend draining or removing a cyst if it becomes uncomfortable. People should see their doctor if they notice any new lump on the skin or are concerned about an existing lump.

Many cysts do not cause any symptoms and go away on their own. Cysts can come back. Draining or surgically removing cysts usually has no complications or side effects. In rare cases in which a cyst is next to or inside a cancerous tissue, the prognosis depends on the type of cancer and whether it has spread.
