There are plenty of great 5ks out there that test speed and performance. However, The Color Run is a non-competitive and untimed 5k filled with color that you can experience with friends and family. You’re free to run, jog, walk, or cartwheel along the course!

Entrance Fee-Based Color Run Fundraiser The entrance fee-based color run option opens up the event to the whole community. With this type of fundraiser, you will choose the entrance fee cost (a minimum of $30), which will include a color pack and T-shirt.

The Color Run (also known as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet”) is a very unique kind of untimed, 5K (3.2 mile) “race”. You start the run dressed in a clean white t-shirt, and then you pass through a color station once every kilometer or so.

The Color Run 101: How to Prepare for The Color Run

1. Bring a small sandwich bag for your cell phone.
2. Wear a bandana and sunglasses.
3. Bring a towel and baby wipes.
4. Get there early.
5. Take “Before and After” photos.
6. Run with your friends, your family, and/or your kids.
7. Have fun.

Put some gusto in it! After removing as much excess powder as possible, spot clean as needed. Some gear may take more time and effort to get back to normal. Best practice is to not bring anything you are too worried about having lingering color.

But sadly, our color is designed to wash out. To keep you looking fresh, we have compiled a few helpful guidelines.

As runners inhale the fine particles that make up the colorful clouds that characterize color runs, the dust settles into airways, eventually sitting deep in the lungs.

How Much Color Powder is Needed For A Fun Run or Color Race? For Color Race/Walk type of events we recommend a minimum of ½ pound per participant if there will be 3 or less color stations. If your event will have 4 or more color stations, we recommend at least ¾ pound per participant.

The Color Run event is all about a color crazy day with friends and family. You can run, walk, crawl, or cartwheel if you wish!

The Colour Run is a rain, rainbow and shine event. We’ll only consider postponing or cancelling the event when safety is at stake. Is water supplied? We encourage all Colour Runners to bring a bottle of water with them to keep hydrated.
