To create a drop-down list in Excel in more detail, follow these step-by-step instructions:

Select the Cells: Click on the cell or range of cells where you want the drop-down list to appear.

Access Data Validation:

Go to the /”Data/” tab on the Excel ribbon.
Click on the /”Data Validation/” button in the Data Tools group. This will open the Data Validation dialog box.
Set Up the List:

In the Data Validation dialog box, ensure the Settings tab is selected.
In the Allow box, select /”List/” from the drop-down menu.
Specify the Source:

In the Source box, you have two options:
If your list values are in the same sheet, you can select the range of cells that contain the values.
If your list values are not in the same sheet, you can type them directly into the Source box separated by commas (e.g., Item1, Item2, Item3).
Input Message (Optional):

You can add an input message to provide instructions or guidance for the drop-down list. This is optional.
Error Alert (Optional):

You can set up an error message to appear if the user tries to input data that is not in the drop-down list. This is also optional.
Finalize:

Click OK to create the drop-down list. Now, when you click on the cell, a drop-down arrow will appear, allowing you to select from the list of items you specified.
That’s how you can create a drop-down list in Excel
