If you’ve go Excel 2016, you can now create box and whiskers chart (or box plots). It lets you create a vertical oriented box plot but not a horizontal (sideways or parallel) one. If you wanted to create a horizontal box plot, you’d have to take a couple of different steps (not many!) to make it out of a stacked bar chart with error bars (and keep your outliers visible). Take a look, it’s not that hard!
