One of my postgraduate students recently asked me how I manage to count the number of words in a paper if there are tables embedded in the text. In this video, I’m demonstrating how I do that in Microsoft Word. When we count the number of words in a paper, we are only interested in the number of words in the text, and we don’t want to add the number of words contained in the table into the calculation.
