In this video, I explain how to set a DNS server on your computer via the command prompt window. You can change or set the DNS server on your network via the command line.
Whether you are setting up a primary or secondary DNS, you can set it using the command line.
This method works with Windows 10, 11, and 7 as well.
Commands used in the video:
netsh
To show the name of the networks available on your computer :
interface ip show config

To set the primary DNS :
interface ip set dns /”Ethernet INTERFACE NAME/” static DNS_Address

To set a secondary DNS:
interface ip add dns name=/”Ethernet INTERFACE NAME/” DNS_Address index=2
