Using a Power Washed (fully reset) Chromebook, using guest mode and adding a VPN gives you one of the easiest and most secure, private and clean browsing experiences possible. Assuming you trust Google. This $199 laptop should also:
Reduce risk of viruses
Reduce risk of local network attack (open hotspot for example)
Provide ‘quick exit’ to a clean system with no traces
Using HTTPS over the channel you’ll still be encrypted when leaving the VPN exit point.
Use Google DNS to add a little more security.

Only browsing is possible with this method. No extensions are allowed and no apps can be installed but there are online solutions available. Kiosk mode on ChromeOS might be a solution to the apps problem.
