The unique moisture-resistant features of DensArmor Plus Interior Panels allow builders to install interior gypsum assemblies when it’s not feasible to wait until building is dried in. Paper-faced products are often damaged by wind-driven rain and moisture during installation.

DensArmor Basics DensArmor paperless drywall is manufactured by Georgia-Pacific. The moisture-resistant core is covered on the front and back by fiberglass sheets. Not only does it resist the moisture, it offers additional protection against abuse and impacts.

DensArmor Plus Fireguard exhibits 15 flame spread as tested per ASTM E 84 or CAN/ULC S-102. A specially formulated gypsum core that includes glass fibers allows DensArmor Plus Fireguard to help protect framing members and prevent or delay the spread of fire.

Interior abuse resistant drywall is specially designed to provide abuse resistance in wall applications. This combination affords greater resistance to abuse and sound transmission in high traffic areas than does regular gypsum board.

Modern mold-resistant drywall combines the moisture resistance of older green board with materials and engineering that also make it quite resistant to mold. What’s the difference between PURPLE drywall and traditional green drywall? Traditional green drywall (also known as greenboard) is only moisture-resistant. PURPLE drywall, manufactured only by Gold Bond Building Products, is superior because it offers moisture, mold and mildew resistance.

Function. The green side should face toward you when you install greenboard. The brownish side should face away. Another way to identify the correct side is to install the greenboard so the beveled edges face outward.

In addition, the mold resistance of DensArmor Plus Interior Panels have been validated by UL Environment and listed in its Sustainable Product Guide utilizing microbial resistant testing based on ASTM Standard D6329-98.
