Irish Ferries participates in the Pet Travel Scheme. Motorists and foot -passengers may bring their pet with them. All Dogs, Cats and Ferrets travelling under this scheme need a Pet Passport. It is your responsibility to ensure that all the entry conditions are met otherwise your pet will not be allowed to travel.

To travel from Great Britain to Ireland with your pet, your pet will require a microchip, rabies vaccine at least 21 days before travel, worming treatment (for dogs) and animal health certificate, or a pet passport issued outside of Great Britain.

You can no longer use a pet passport issued in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) for travel to an EU country or Northern Ireland. When travelling to an EU country or Northern Ireland, your pet needs: a microchip. a valid rabies vaccination.

All dogs, cats and ferrets may enter Ireland commercially from a rabies-free or rabies-controlled countries. Dogs, cats and ferrets may only enter Ireland commercially from these high-rabies countries and must have a titer test according to step #3 above.

The price for a complete EU Pet Passport in 2020 can cost anywhere between €20 and €448+. The price is broken down into the following compulsory and potential costs: Pet microchipping. Rabies vaccination.

They must be at least 8 weeks old, healthy, meet weight restrictions (less than 100 pounds for domestic travel) and travel can occur only if the outside temperature is between 45℉ and 85℉ at both the origin and destination airports. Also, certain breeds aren’t allowed, such as boxers and pitbulls.

“Depending on where you’re going and the size of your dog, it can cost you a pretty penny,” Huntington says. “On the cheap side, it will run you around $800–$900, but it can go all the way to numbers like $7,000. It is very expensive to fly pets internationally.”

‘ Hygiene is reportedly the reason why Emaar banned dogs from Dubai Marina, once a pet-friendly area (Emaar didn’t respond to requests for comment on how dog-friendly their other communities are).

In terms of trainablity, labs beat pitbulls by miles. Pitbulls are stubborn and have an independent mind of their own. A firm but loving hand is neceasary to properly train a pitbull. Labs are trained very well and very easily.

Statistics show golden retrievers and Labrador retrievers are the two breeds least likely to bite. Retrievers have been bred to retrieve water fowl, the animals are bred to have a “soft mouth” that does not damage the hunter’s birds.
